The Escape to Moominvalley exhibition at the Architecture and Design Museum explores, in a way never seen before, Tove Jansson’s and the Moomins’ relationship with architecture, the built environment and design. At the same time, it opens a portal into Jansson’s reality. Visitors are offered a glimpse into the world of the Moomins, which she created as a place of escape for herself and her readers. Jansson is known as a brilliant writer and visual artist, and she was also a masterful creator of spaces. The exhibition examines how Jansson viewed architecture and design in her own life, and how these themes are reflected in the stories of Moominvalley.
