Ten years, one story – and a new chapter begins

In 2015, the building that originally served as Helsinki’s electric power plant, and later as the police headquarters, opened its doors in a brand-new form: as the stylish Hotel Lilla Roberts. The following year, Kati Jousimies took the helm as General Manager – and since then, we have been writing the new chapter of this historical building together.

Now, after ten years, it is time to pause for a moment to give thanks and look ahead.

To Helsinki's most fashionable hotel

Under Kati Jousimies's leadership, Hotel Lilla Roberts has established its position in the heart of Helsinki's Design District and grown into Helsinki's most fashion-conscious boutique hotel. This work has also been recognized beyond our walls: our hotel was awarded Brand Action of the Year within our hotel group Nordic Hotels & Resorts and has collected numerous TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice accolades. Hotel Lilla Roberts has taken significant steps toward increasingly eco-friendly operations. At the same time, we have provided visibility to responsibly operating domestic fashion brands as part of the hotel’s own fashion partner concept.

Kati herself looks back on these years with warmth:

Kati is now moving on to lead our beautiful sister hotel, Hotel St. George, handing over the mantle to her successor. Thank you, Kati – for these ten years and for everything you have given us.

Welcome, Sansan Kumpumäki

Starting in August 2026, Sansan Kumpumäki steps in to lead our hotel. A seasoned professional, she moves from the flagship of our Finnish hotel family, Hotel Kämp, to take on a fresh and exciting role.

Sansan brings over 30 years of extensive experience from across the industry: hotels, restaurants, events, and live music arenas. And what better continuation for this expertise than Hotel Lilla Roberts – a venue that has always been, and will continue to be, a hotel of opportunities that boldly tries new things!

Sansan moves to Lilla Roberts from the legendary Hotel Kämp, where she played a key role over the past three years building Hotel Kämp's rebirth as Operations Manager. During this time, Hotel Kämp became the first—and so far only—Finnish hotel to receive Condé Nast Traveler's Triple Crown Award. Now, as that renewal project nears completion, Sansan is ready for new challenges.

A new chapter for a historical building

From power plant to police station, from police station to boutique hotel – Hotel Lilla Roberts is a place that proudly carries its history while reinventing itself, preserving its own playful character. Now it is time for a new chapter once again, and we eagerly look forward to seeing what the coming years under Sansan's leadership will bring.
